#Installation notes
##Install workaround for 3.0 on a Power Macintosh 7300

If you find you can't boot the 3.0 CD on your machine with [[Open Firmware]] 1.0.5. (This assumes you are familiar with NetBSD in general.)

* download and burn the 1.6.2 [macppccd.iso](
* download and burn the 3.0 [macppccd-3.0.iso](
* follow the 1.6.2 [INSTALL.html]( to get to Open Firmware
* fixup the OF environment variables as described in INSTALL.html
* boot the 1.6.2 cd with the *boot scsi-int/sd@3:0* command
* install a minimal system
* reboot into 1.6.2 (*boot scsi-int/sd@0:0*)
* gunzip *macppc/binary/kernel/netbsd-INSTALL.gz* from the 3.0 CD to */netbsd*
* reboot into the 3.0 sysinst
* follow the 3.0 [INSTALL.html]( to finish the install
